Our Principal's Message

Dear Warren New Tech students and families,

I am honored to introduce myself to you as your new principal and look forward to working with you this school year. I am enthusiastic about the upcoming school year and the academic successes and experiences the students will have this year. I believe every child deserves a high quality education in a supportive motivating environment and here at Warren New Tech that is what we strive to offer your child each and every day.

Warren New Tech has utilized project-based learning (PBL) since our opening in 2007. PBL focuses on relevant and real-world application of learning. Students are challenged to explore different subject matter while building the 21st Century skills necessary to be successful. We believe that project-based learning is effective in preparing students for their future careers, no matter the path they take. Warren New Tech is committed to deepening and expanding our implementation of project-based learning.

Warren New Tech’s core beliefs are built around the principles of trust, respect, responsibility, and professionalism. Below you will find examples of what each means.

Trust: Students are often trusted to complete assignments in areas outside of their regular classroom. The teachers trust the students to be on task and work collaboratively without a facilitator being visible.

Respect: We respect our fellow students and staff members, kind of like the golden rule, treat others like you would want them to treat you.

Responsibility: Being responsible for your own actions and having a growth mindset are important to developing positive relationships with your peers.

Professionalism: Professionalism is key in being successful. Students interact with outside community members on a regular basis.

Warren New Tech’s main goal is to prepare our students for the next step; no matter what path they take. Students will be taught how to make a professional portfolio, how to fill out college applications, and how to be successful in a professional interview. In addition to that, students are expected to take 12 units of college classes from Vance Granville Community College. Educating the students with the necessary skills and discipline will give the students a head start in their college careers.

I thank you for entrusting your child’s education to us. We want to work in partnership with the families of our students to ensure the success of our students. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have additional questions throughout the school year.
