The annual science fair was held at Mariam Boyd Elementary on Wednesday, November 6th. Students in grades 3-5 were required to participate in scientific research and complete a project over their discoveries. Students then presented projects in front of county selected judges. All 1st and 2nd place winners will participate in district wide science fair held at Warren County High School on December 6th.
5th Grade Science Fair Winners:
Austin Silver (1st Place-“What the Hydralic is This?”), Zaniyah Crutcher (2nd Place-“Lemon Battery’), Jakyra Nicholson (3rd Place-Lava Lamp”), Ta’Lasia Salley (Honorable Mention-“The Slime Project”).
4th Grade Science Fair Winners:
Khamari Crews (1st Place- “Volcano”), Ashtyn Silver (2nd Place-“Lemon Volcano”), Amir Williams (3rd Place –“Potato Clock”), Ri’Kiyia Wilson (Honorable Mention- “How Do Flowers Change Colors?”).
3rd Grade Science Fair Winners:
Ethan Davis (1st Place- “Sizing Up Marshamallows”), Da’Najah Burwell (2nd Place-“Mentos and Diet Coke”), Ciara Howard (3rd Place-“Pop Popcorn’), Dynasty Russell (Honorable Mention- “Up Up Inflate”).
