Interim Superintendent Dr. Carol Montague-Davis presented her budget recommendation to the School Board at their Tuesday, April 8, 2025 meeting.
The proposed budget asks Warren County Commissioners for $6.6 million in local funding for operational costs, a $632,000 increase from this year. The request prioritizes staff recruitment and retention, systematically replacing older computers and laptops, bringing our athletic facilities into regulation compliance, and critical future investments for facilities and transportation.
The superintendent's proposed budget also covers increased costs for utilities, insurance, expenses not covered by the state to serve some of our students with special needs, and over $1 million that Warren County Schools is legally required to pay to 17 area charter schools.
The proposed budget also asks County Commissioners for $508,000 in capital outlay funds to make necessary repairs to aging facilities and equipment, a $158,000 increase from this year’s budget.
The Warren County Board of Education is accepting feedback on the budget recommendation online through Friday, April 18, 2025, at noon. The School Board will vote on the budget during the April 22, 2025 meeting.
