Northside Virtual Open House: We are excited about the start of the 2020-2021 school year. Please join us this Friday, August 14, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. virtually. Parents will have an opportunity to hear about virtual student expectations, view the instructional schedule for students, virtually meet staff members, hear about grading guidelines, chromebook distribution, student work packet information, and learn about the new software students will be using.

Northside K-8 School Parents: We have been informed that the student computers will not be here in time for students to receive them prior to the first day of school scheduled for August 17, 2020. Grade level instructional student work packets will be mailed out this week. Each student learning packet will have reading, math, science and social studies in them. Please contact the school if you have moved over the summer. We are still very excited about the students all receiving new chromebooks, and the software that will be loaded on to the chromebooks! The chromebook rental fee will be $20 cash per student. This information was shared during the first and second "Warren County Schools Town Hall Meeting." Warren County Schools is next on the chromebook shipment list from the vendor. We are hoping to receive the chromebooks within the next couple of weeks or sooner. We thank you for your patience.

Good Afternoon Northside K-8 Parents: Just to keep you informed we are finalizing all information that will be going out to parents prior to the start of our exciting virtual online school year. It is official that all students will receive a chromebook, and the rental fee will be $20 in cash per child for the whole school year. We are waiting for the chromebooks to arrive in order to set a distribution date. The chromebooks will come fully loaded with all the programs your child will need to access. There will be a simply one step login which will allow your child to access all the fantastic learning programs. An online and hardcover textbook adoption was also approved at the last school board meeting. Teachers will be trained on all computer software and textbook adoptions. We are still on schedule to begin virtual school on August 17, 2020. I will reach out to you again via Facebook, Twitter, school website, and robo call when I have more information. Northside Reopening of School Update: The Warren County School Board approved Plan C regarding the reopening of the Warren County Public Schools. The selection of Plan C means that online only instruction will take place for the first quarter of the school year.
Attention Warren County Schools parents. After carefully reviewing the data that you provided in a recent survey, we are making plans for the 2020-21 school year based on your feedback. Parents that are interested in their student(s) participating in an all online learning environment next year will need to complete an application to participate in our Virtual Academy. We are also asking parents that do not plan to allow their students to ride the school bus next year to complete an opt-out form so that we can plan on the number of students that will be riding buses.. Click on the links in this message to access the Virtual Academy Application and the Transportation Opt-Out Form. In addition to the online forms, schools will be mailing out these forms in paper format today to all parents. There is a stamped envelope inside each packet that will allow you to mail it back to us. If you have questions, please contact your child's school or the Warren County School District Office.

Northside Parent Reminder: Teachers have already made contact with parents reminding them to pick up their child's items left at school no later than July 23, 2020 by 3:00 p.m. No items will be kept after that date, due to health safety reasons. Pick up days are Monday through Thursday from 9:00 to 3:00 p.m. If you need a different time, please contact the school. In addition, the semester calendar has been adopted as the Warren County Schools calendar for all schools. Currently students start school again on August 17, 2020. Of course, this may be subject to change depending upon Governor Roy Cooper. You will receive more information on how student instruction will take place in Warren County Schools (virtual, non-virtual or both) in the upcoming weeks.

Northside K-8 Parents: All promotion drive through ceremonies (Pre-K, K, 5th grade and 8th grade), due to the rain forecast for the entire week have now been rescheduled to June 22, 2020. The schedule is as follows: 8th grade (10:00 a.m.), K (11:30 a.m.), Pre-K (1:00 p.m.) and 5th grade (3:00 p.m.).
