Welcome to Vaughan Elementary School’s website. I am so excited that you have chosen to learn more about our school. My name is Sophelia McMannen and I am the principal. Vaughan Elementary is now a Leader in Me school where we thoughtfully and intentionally incorporate Stephen Covey's 7 Habits into the grade-level curriculum. As a Leader in Me School, students discover and practice a set of leadership and life skills from Stephen Covey’s book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Incorporating The Leader in Me practices within our school’s environment and curriculum will help students become even more ready to succeed in the 21st Century, with critical skills and characteristics such as: trustworthiness, a strong work ethic, motivation, problem-solving skills, goal setting, effective interpersonal skills, a sense of teamwork, academic achievement and valuing diversity in a global market.

At Vaughan Elementary we facilitate student-centered learning and engaging academic tasks that promote higher-level performance, 21st-century skilled learners, and tomorrow's world leaders.
