Greetings Vaughan Families,

This is Principal Mrs. McMannen with your weekly update. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! Please remember that there is no school for students tomorrow, Monday, January 19th, as schools are closed in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Students and staff will return to school on Tuesday, January 20th.

The second quarter ended on Friday, January 16th, and report cards will go home on Thursday, January 22nd. Please be on the lookout for your child’s report card and take time to celebrate their progress.

We are excited to invite you to our January Family Reading Night this Thursday, January 22nd, at 6:00 PM. Our theme is “Pancakes and Pajamas!” Come out and enjoy a fun evening of reading books, earning AR points, and enjoying some delicious pancakes. We hope to see many of our Vaughan families there!

This week, Vaughan’s student attendance rate was 80.36%. Our School Improvement Goal is 95% attendance. You can help us reach this goal by ensuring your child attends school every day unless they are sick. Every day of learning truly matters.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Let’s have a great week of learning ahead! Remember, All In…We Win!

Warm regards,
Sophelia McMannen
Principal, Vaughan Elementary School
