If you plan to drive to school and park your vehicle on campus, you must purchase a student parking permit.
Parking permits will be sold Monday, August 5 - Friday, August 9 in the front office from 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. The student AND a parent or guardian must sign the parking permit application when you come to the school to pay for and pick up your parking decal.
Parking Permit Application
In order to purchase your parking permit, you must:
Have paid all high school fines.
Provide a copy of this form signed by a parent or guardian
Provide a copy of the vehicle registration card, insurance card and a copy of the student’s driver license
Provide the exact amount of $30 in cash. This fee is for the privilege of driving and parking on the WCHS campus during the 2024-2025 school year. Please note that the fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. (CASH ONLY)
The following rules and guidelines must be followed at all times:
Must purchase a parking tag ON or BEFORE August 9, 2024 to park on campus
No flags flown from vehicles
Parking tag must be displayed on rear view mirror and clearly visible at all times
Students cannot sell, exchange, or trade their parking tags with another student
Park ONLY in your assigned parking space
Exit your car after you park (no sitting in the parking lot after 7:45 am)
No skipping school or violation of any WCS Code of Conduct
No tobacco products and/or vapes on school premises or in the vehicle
Follow attendance and tardy policies
To maintain driver’s eligibility, you must pass 3 out of 4 classes per semester for the preceding semester
The campus wide speed limit is 10 mph
Respect administrators, teachers, and staff who are on duty in parking areas at all times
Adhere to North Carolina’s seat belt law that requires drivers and all passengers – regardless of age or seating position – to be buckled up (on and off WCHS campus)
Early graduates must turn their parking tags into the main office. They cannot be sold or given to another student driver
Violations of any of these listed items may result in temporary suspension or permanent forfeiture of parking privileges without refund of cost.
The school reserves the right to patrol and inspect student automobiles whenever reasonable suspicion of inappropriate activity or materials exist.
Parking on school premises is a privilege, not a right!
