On June 19, 1865, Union troops freed enslaved African Americans in Galveston Bay and across Texas, two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. This day came to be known as #Juneteenth, now officially a federal holiday. Learn more: https://s.si.edu/4eojDwh

Juneteenth. Freedom Day. “Nobody's free until everybody's free.” - Fannie Lou Hamer. Today, we celebrate the end of slavery in the United States and honor the resilience and strength of Black Americans. Let's continue to fight for justice and equality for all. The fight against slavery and systemic racism continues today. Image of black and brown fists of varying sizes raised in solidarity in the air. Warren County Schools logo with red, green, and yellow behind it.

Your opinion is important to Warren County Schools! Based on your feedback, the district revised the proposed school calendars for the 2024-25 school year. Superintendent Sutton also presented his $65 million recommended budget to our School Board on April 23. There will be a public hearing on the budget Tuesday, May 14 at 6 p.m. at Warren County Middle School. You can also submit your feedback online! Please tell us what you think about the updated school calendars and the Superintendent's recommended budget by Friday, May 3 at noon. We have more information on both topics on the district website and every school's website under the "News" section. www.warrenk12nc.org/

Our own Danté White was surprised with a high-performance gaming computer Thursday. Danté was one of just 12 students selected from 3,000 across the state to receive a free computer from the NC Varsity Esports and STEM League (VESL). It's a new esports league for high schools to compete against each other in video games, just like they do in traditional sports. Now, our Eagles will be able to win on the field, on the court, on the diamond, on the track, and in cyberspace! #GameOnNC #EaglePride #WarrenProud #WarrenFam #WarrenSwagger

🚨EARLY RELEASE ALERT 🚨 Warren County High School will dismiss students at 12:30 on Monday, April 8, 2024. Students will have the opportunity to eat lunch at school before dismissal. After school activities will continue as scheduled. Only Warren County High School will release students early Monday. All other schools will have a normal, full day of school. The early release at Warren County High School will allow teachers time to set up their classrooms again. Over Spring Break, the school was thoroughly deep cleaned. We also had new furniture and student seating installed in every classroom. Please talk to your student about the importance of taking care of our new furnishings and helping to keep our campus clean. We all share these responsibilities so we can be proud of our school and have a nice, clean place to learn and work. We hope our students, staff, and community appreciate these efforts and investments to improve our learning environment. Thank you for your ongoing support of Warren County High School.
