There’s no school Monday, April 18th in observance of the Easter holiday. Students will return to school Tuesday, April 19th. We will have Sweet Treats and Story Time on Thursday, April 21st, 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Students from all grade levels will present stories they have written. We will also be serving a sweet treat to everyone who attends. Kindergarten Registration is Tuesday, April 26, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Teacher Appreciation week is May 2nd - May 6th. You must prepay for the pictures. You will not receive pictures if you don’t prepay. There’s no school for students Thursday, April 14, 2022. The district has made it a Wellness Day for students. School will also be closed Friday, April 15th, and Monday, April 18th in observance of the Easter holiday. Students will return to school Tuesday, April 19th. Vaughan Elementary Kindergarten Registration Will Be Rescheduled For April 26, 2022 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Children must be 5 years of age on or before August 31, 2022 to register! Please bring the following with you in order to register: 1. Your Child 2. Child’s Official Birth Certificate 3. Child’s Social Security Card 4. Child’s Immunization Records (Shot Records) 5. Proof of Residency (Electric Bill, Lease Agreement) 6. Parent’s Driver’s License or ID * April 14th will now be a wellness day for students and staff. There will be no school for students.

Only students who provided their insurance information will be screened. The federal government no longer pays for Covid 19 screenings. Wearing a mask is now optional for all students and staff. However, I need your help with keeping everyone safe. If your child has symptoms of Covid 19, please do not send them to school. Our 3rd, 4th, and, 5th grade students will take the NC Check-In assessments this week. The NC Check-In schedule is the following: Tuesday, April 6th, Reading NC Check-In Wednesday, April 7th, Math NC Check-In Thursday, April 8th, Science NC Check-In for just our 5th-grade students Spring Picture Day is Tuesday, April 12, 2022. Good Evening Parents, Vaughan Elementary is planning activities for Career Day 2022. Career Day 2022 is scheduled for April 8, 2022. The Career Day Planning Committee would like to have you or someone from your business serve as a presenter at Career Day. Please contact Mrs. Callahan before March 25th, if you are interested. Thursday, March 24th, is an early release day. School will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 25th is a March Madness Spirit Day. Please wear your favorite college team shirt. Good Evening, The start time for Prekindergarten Registration on Thursday, March 17, 2022, has been changed to 9:00 a.m. and will end at 7:00 p.m. This means that Prekindergarten Registration is now from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thanks for your continued support.

To help us maintain a safe morning arrival for our prekindergarten students the following changes have been made: Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, March 16, 2022, prekindergarten students will unload in the bus parking lot at 7:50 a.m. This change will allow parents to be able to converse with Mrs. Barnes and Ms. Carroll during the morning arrival. If parents have older kids here at Vaughan Elementary they can all be dropped off together in the bus parking lot. This change is only for the morning arrival. Prekindergarten parents will use the regular carpool line for the afternoon dismissal. Prekindergarten students will not have school Thursday, March 17, or Friday, March 18, 2022. Just a Reminder..... We have Parent/Teacher Conferences on Thursday, March 17, from 1-7 pm and Friday, March 18, from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. If you have not received a notice from your child's teacher to schedule a time to discuss your child's progress ASAP. Due to Parent/Teacher Conferences, there will be an Early Dismissal on Thursday, March 17, at 12:30 pm and there will be NO SCHOOL at all on Friday, March 18. We look forward to seeing you!

Pre-K Registration is coming up on March 17 from 1-7 pm and March 18 from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. There is limited space and screenings will be done live on these days. Child must be 4 years old by 8/31/2022. Need: Birth Certificate (Official copy) Shot Record Social Security Card Health Assessment (Due 30 days after enrollment) Proof of Income (One full month consecutively, or W-2 form) Proof of Residence (Light bill, water bill, gas bill) Parent ID
